Ice Etiquette

All skaters should read and be familiar with the Ice Etiquette prior to taking the ice.

  • All skaters will check in prior to taking the ice.
  • Skaters may only take the ice for practice during their age- or level-appropriate session.
  • Skaters and parents must respect the rights of other skaters and members at all times.
  • Skaters must maintain constant awareness of those around them.
  • Skaters rehearsing programs have the right of way and will wear a designated vest to identify them.
  • Skaters must be careful around other members, especially those of greater or lesser skill level.
  • Skaters will refrain from standing around and engaging in discussion while on the ice.
  • Skaters will look around for other skaters when entering and exiting the ice.
  • There will be no pushing, pulling, grabbing, bumping, bullying, or intimidation of other skaters.
  • Skaters will not engage in horseplay or yelling/screaming on the ice.
  • There will be no group-routine practice on the Freestyle ice (a group is three or more individuals performing together at the same time).
  • No food or drink other than water is permitted on the ice.
  • Kicking or digging holes into the ice is forbidden.
  • Do not interrupt a coach or student during a lesson.
  • The skating harness will be scheduled by coaches ahead of time to avoid conflict.
  • If you are injured or see another member sustain an injury, notify a coach, parent, or employee immediately.
  • Bullying or intimidation of skaters, parents, or the general public will not be tolerated on or off the ice by club members or visiting skaters.
