About 3x3 Cross Ice

3x3 Cross Ice is the natural next step after Learn to Play or Flyers Rookies. Sessions are built around 2-3 small-area games per week, giving each player far more puck touches, decisions, and shots than full-ice play allows. It's the bridge between learning skills and using them in a game.

More Touches

Smaller ice = the puck finds every player far more often than in full-ice games.

Faster Decisions

Tight space and limited time train quick reads, passes, and shot selection.

Real Game Feel

Score, defend, transition — all the elements of a real hockey game in miniature.

Low-Pressure

Relaxed atmosphere — mistakes are part of learning to play the game.

How a Typical Session Runs

1

2-3 Mini Games

Each one-hour session is built around 2 to 3 cross-ice scrimmages.

2

Small Nets, No Goalies

All skaters get to play out — no goalie required for the mini nets.

3

Cross-Ice Setup

Ice is divided sideways so 2-3 games can run at once on the same sheet.

4

Light Instruction

Coaches keep things moving and offer pointers between shifts — the games do the teaching.
